Freedom is an elusive and precious dream. I do not live in Montreal but I would hope an artist there will erect a permanent statue of her or ask the city to dedicate a place there in her honour. I hope that her son will know that many Canadians still care about that freedom, especially how his Mother stood for that for all, women especially. His loss is the same as Canadians who have lost their sons and daughters to all legitimate causes around the world. Thanks to a woman who did not dwell on the obstacles but had courage to try to overcome them despite the looming dangers. She most definitely made the ultimate sacrifice.
