I would lovelove to see Atlanta. I love how it rolls off the tongue. I have a great uncle there, somewhere, but i’m bad at keeping in contact with family. We should do a writer’s exchange or something and have readings in both cities, and declare them cultural friends. And we should get a giant grant to pay for all our writers’ and their loved ones’ travel. we should actually think more about this, maybe.
there’s a funny new post on open today about goats that made me think of you and poor Nanny. and there’s quite a bit of french translated into english in it. I might not have mentionned it, bc it feels like self-promotion to thump what’s on the website, but i’m super happy that you found and read about the tamtam’s all on your own. so there you go.
it’s hard for us to tell, here, that our seasonal patterns are changing, bc the weather in Montreal has always been erratic. Also, I’m pretty young, for all I know it’s always been like this, I haven’t been comparing long enough to be sure. I know in the north climate change has been a hard reality for a long long time. The natives formed coalitions with other indigenous people in Russia and with other scientists to get Paul Martin the data for his sit downs with your chief. The saddest thing I’ve heard in a long while was the astronauts’ shocked message from space about how scarily visible the damage we’d done was from up there. I think as long as no one gets carried away thinking these are the end times we may be able to get out of the planet’s way and slowly get out of this mess ok, but i’m an optimist.
