New Call!
We’re looking for writing that bridges. We have a focus, right now, on these wide and floppy catergories: Communication, Environment, Arts, and Politics. But we are looking for regular contributors with interesting things to say on other curious subjects.
Research is good. Narrative is good. Comics, poetry, thesis, photography.

The thing we’re interested in at Open is the way ideas change and grow, and how raw and wrong we all can be. So please comment, add your ideas and questions to these texts, post links to arguments or interesting other evidence on the web.
Open was started by a couple of graduate students from Concordia University in Montreal as a place for dialogic writing on the web. As Neil Balan, fellow student and contributor once said, “Think of anything that mediates anything, and how, and that’s what we’re into.”
We’re especially always looking for work that explores the idea of open, mediated, or closed communication.
And if you need help getting your work web-ready, we’re here for that too.
Think of this as a polyvocal space, or as a cooperative tool for developing media makers. However you think of us, we’re glad to have you!
At Open and Touchbasic we continue to explore options provided by the open source software community in order to further develop our site and our ability to offer innovative connections. Recently we’ve added: accessibility options that allow the reader to change the color and size of the text, feeds from other information sources, and lots of other fun new functionalities.
So come visit us, write for us, talk to us, bookmark us, subscribe to our rss feeds, link to us, love us; let us know how we can be brighter and shinier and more open and useful.
Thanks for your time!
