When you’re in a hospital, in a gown, and you have to take it pretty much off the let the doctor get at what ails you, you’re in one of the most vulnerable positions you’ll consciously put ourselves into, I think. This designer consulted with hospital staff to make this piece, and so in a way used the CVP as a forum to say something about design and dignity.

I like the haiku about times gone by, and what a lift ticket used to get you. It seems like an odd association, but haiku is meant, i think, to be a bit like skipping stones. I think those hops between ideas are what make Emily’s haiku so dizzying and good.
